JB Fitness & Wellbeing: Personal Training Terms and Conditions

Applicable from 1st Jan 2019

1) Personal Training Service

The trainer will use their knowledge and skills to design a safe programme of exercise that will take into account the client's personal goals, fitness levels and exercise likes and dislikes. JB Fitness & Wellbeing personal trainers are members of the Register of Exercise Professionals and are therefore bound by the REPs Code of Ethical Conduct.

2) Health Screening

All clients must complete a PAR-Q before commencing any exercise programme by completing the relevant health questions via the Mindbody system. In some cases, your trainer may require a letter of 'medical clearance' from your GP. Please be aware that your GP may charge you for this. All client information will be kept strictly private and confidential in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If the trainer requires further medication or treatment information from a medical practitioner, the client must provide such details.

3) Commitment to Personal Training Sessions

Payment for personal training sessions must be made monthly in advance, with a minimum initial committment period of one session per week for two months. Thereafter, the personal training contract can be cancelled at any time subject to a one month notice period. All monies paid are non-refundable. After the initial two month period, payment will be made on the same day each month on a rolling basis. Every monthly payment will entitle the client to a further four sessions, to be completed within the following month (e.g. payment on 20th June = sessions to be completed by 19th July), after which time any unused sessions will expire and no longer be available. Exceptions may be made in the event of unforseen client absence in special circumstances at the sole discretion of JB Fitness & Wellbeing. The expiry date of relevant sessions will also be extended for any periods in which the assigned personal trainer is not fully available, by the duration of the period of unavailability. Payment will always be processed on the same day of the month as the initial payment. In cases where four sessions have not been completed in any given month period, due to either client or trainer unavailability, any unused sessions will be carried over to the following month. In cases where more than four sessions are scheduled in any given monthly period, then a session credit may be borrowed from the following month's session entitlement, unless notice of cancellation has already been given.

4) Cancellation Policy for all Clients

Notice of cancellation of a session of less than 24 hours will incur full payment of the session fee, i.e. the session will be deducted from the remaining available sessions.

5) Lateness Policy

All sessions shall be 55 minutes in duration. If the client is late for a session, the session will not be extended and will end at the appointed time. In the extremely unlikley circumstance of the trainer being late, additional time will be added to the session or to subsequent sessions.
